Second Doc Visit- 13 1/2 weeks

So, we had our second visit on Feb 8th! It was great! They did all the really boring stuff first- weight, blood pressure, blah, blah...THEN we got to go the ultrasound room! This was the coolest! After she put the goop on my stomach, it wasn't long before we heard AND SAW the baby's heart beating! It was so awesome! By this time in the pregnancy, it really looked like a baby! We saw the profile, a straight on shot, and fingers! AHHH! Little fingers! That was my favorite part! I could have watched that monitor forever! I just smiled so big (and the watery eye thing happened again) and kept saying "Oh my gosh!" It was just so cool! Evey angle showed a different part of the baby! We got a few printed out images, but none with those perfect little fingers! ...maybe next time! The first picture is the entire length of the baby- just to verify the due date. The second is a weird one...the baby is laying on it's side and looking directly at you, with the head on the left and the belly on the right. The baby's hands out to the side with the fists up by the eyes/ears. The third is my favorite- the profile. You can see the outline of the forehead, nose, lips, and chin! I cannot WAIT 'til the next one. I want one every time!! Right now, the next sonogram is planned for March 30th. I'll be 20 weeks by then (5 months). Hopefully, if Baby K cooperates, we'll be able to see if we're having a boy or a girl! Can't wait! I'll keep you posted...
