So, you'll notice that Ava has a bit of a red eye with a little dark spot under her right eye. She was sitting on my lap, and Patrick was sitting next to me with the laptop...she she just leaned right over and hit her sweet little face on the corner of the laptop. This is right after she hit it. (She's much happier here than when she hit it). So, she developed a little bruise over the next few days...very sad looking. :( She recovered really quickly though...which made me feel better!
We celebrated Valentine's Day too! Here's Ava with her V-Day outfit. She's also sporting a pretty good black eye from her unfortunate encounter with the laptop. Her shirt says "All you need is me." So sweet!

I came home from work on V-Day and I saw this! Oh my gosh, HOW CUTE!!! Ava was just sitting there listening to and watching Patrick play the guitar. It was such a wonderful thing to see. Patrick is just such a fantastic dad!

We had some visitors this past weekend...Walter and Uncle Steve came down for a few days. Here's Ava and I hanging out with them out back! They wore Ava out!

Black eye all healed up! Now you can focus on those beautiful blue eyes again!

Ava had her 6 month checkup this week! Everything was great and she is in perfect health. She weighs 15lbs 4 oz (35%) and is 26 inches long (2 inches longer than 4 months and 50%). She got her shots and SCREAMED bloody murder. I HATED it and scooped her right up, and in a matter of ONE second...she was all better. What a trooper! Ava still hasn't had any solid foods since she hasn't shown any signs of not being satisfied after her feedings. Her doc said that she is growing beautifully and said the longer we can wait on solids, the better for allergy purposes. But, in the past few days, she has been STARING at me while I eat and drink. So, I'm thinking about starting cereal this weekend. It's a big step for me...and I'm not sure I'm ready...but we'll see! Here we are at Ava's appointment awaiting the shots!

More waiting! She's just so happy!

Patrick and I went out for sushi for Valentine's Day. We got our first non-relative babysitter! One of my co-residents, Lesley, was so kind and came and hung out at our place while we got to go out. I put Ava to sleep before we left, so all she had to do was hang out with a sleeping baby! It was so nice to get to go out...so, thank you Lesley!

The cutest baby ever...hanging out with Uncle Steve this past weekend....

Everything else is going great! Michee just got here today...she's staying for a few days. It is actually perfect timing b/c I had to leave work today b/c I was sick with sinus stuff, sore throat, achy muscles, and a fever! Michee made me some fantastic homemade chicken noodle soup that made me already start to feel better. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow...I'm a pretty big baby when it comes to being sick...
So, anyway, that's about it.
Here are some more pictures of Ava...in case you didn't get enough.

Why are babies always so drunk? I've been watching babies a lot lately and you let go for a second and then -- wham -- face plant or Boom they fall backwards. I don't understand why they have to be so floppy. What's in that formula?
Luckily our floors aren't so hard cuz if I got a nickle for every time a baby falls over on my watch, I could pay the medical bills for 3 babies.
Maybe you're not gonna want me to visit anymore.
Decided to look back at my last comment and in case you thought I seriously did not know why babies are not stable, I wanted to make it clear that I'm not really that dumb. I hope I didn't really have to clear that up. I was just being silly, but you knew that I hope.
You've been blogging away this past weekend and I didn't even know it. The video of her trying to crawl is so cute. I wish it was longer.
