Well, maybe not at it's best...I imagine it will continue to get worse from here on out...but check this out!The first picture...I came home from work on Friday evening and took my tennis shoes off...and this is what I got! If you look closely, you can see a line around my ankle, as if I had worn a rubber band around my ankles for several hours! That line is where my tennis shoes and socks stopped. When I took my shoes off, everything below my shoe was normal...I guess there wasn't enough room for the water to get underneath my shoe, so it all "stopped up" at the top of my shoe! It was so swollen from my ankle up!
Then, I was feeling it, and it was so hard! I thought all that edema and water would feel softer...so, I pushed on it with my thumb... AND IT STAYED!!! Look at the imprints on my ankle (second picture)! The bottom one is my thumb print, the top one is my finger print! So, apparently...I've got "pitting edema"- swelling that, when pressed, causes an indentation in the skin that persists for some time after the release of the pressure. Pretty gross, huh?! :) It stayed like that pretty much all night (not the thumb print, the swelling)....but was much better on Saturday morning. It wasn't totally gone, but it was WAY better! I have a feeling this will continue just b/c I'm constantly on my feet all day. Fun, huh?! :)

PS. Sorry if you're grossed out by feet! I guess I should have warned you at the beginning! :)

Edema..... When you hold that Ava girl it will all be worth it. And a couple days after she comes you'll look down at your feet and wonder who's feet are those It's like an out of body experience. Love you, Ava, and those edematose feet.
